FABRIC

Well, my obsession with fabric continues.... Its dangerous... Lucky the post man comes when hubby is at work, and I can quietly sneak a few more packages into the pile and he never knows!!!

I am starting to find my own style.  Above are my three current favourite girl fabrics - all different, but with similar traits, a background colour, with cirlce/flower/star patterns.

I am loving sourcing fabric from different places and I am hoping to put an order in with a company from the USA in the next few weeks!! (need to pay of the credit card first)

I am having a sale on at the moment on my facebook page - have sold a few things already!! And I am updating specials throughout the day - currently free regular postage for all Tassie customers with $2 registered post!!  Hopefully a few more things will sell!!

Also putting the final touches on applications for marekts...

Phew, busy day, luck the girls are in bed!!

Stella Maree Reversible Pinny

This is Stella Maree, my oldest daughter!! She is cheeky, adorable, hard work, but fun and loving!!  It was hard to decide what to call my dresses, but I think naming them after my two girls, my inspiration, reminds me every day to think of why I started sewing in the first place!!

The reverisble pinny suits stella to a tee, it is a little more difficuly to make that the crossover tunic, it is more time consuming, it can be frustrating to make, but I LOVE it so very much - just like my girl!!!

I love pinnys - they are so versatile - my husband loves them as well!!  My girls have LOADS - they wear them a lot!!  But they look lovely!!!

The Abbie JaneTunic - where it all began!!

This pattern is where it all began!!  I loved how simple and easy it was to make, yeah sure, I'll give it a go!  And to this day, it is still my favourtie design!! I have altered and played with the original pattern to get a dress I am happy with.  Both my daughters wear their crossover tunic often, winter with leggins and a long sleeved top and in summer with just a nappy cover!!

Embellished Kids was created out of my want for something just that little bit different, something you dont see in the shops - I really dislike mass produced items not only for their inferior quality, the way they are made, the companies ethics, etc, but also because I have this fear of me or my children turning up somewhere wearing the same clothing as someone else!!  I want to look different and I was mine and my childrens clothes to reflect their personality!!  So I started dabbling in a bit of sewing, nothing too complicated to start with!! And I was amazed at how easy it was to create items that showed off my childrens personality, it gave them a vibe about themselves!!

I soon started putting a few bits and pieces on my personal facebook page, and people started contacting me about buying some of the items!! I began making a few pieces for other people and it soon took off!!  My husband came up with the name Embellished Kids (had to get "Em" in their somewhere), I enlisted the help of my wonderful best friend for a product shoot and we went from there!!  Embellished Kids was launched and we havent looked back!!

I love making custom dresses and items for people - it really allows me to customise a piece that suits them or their child!!  This is where my heart lies!!

Now my range includes dresses, bibs and burpcloths, boys vests, bandanas, headbands, gorgeous flower hair pieces, boys tie shirts with a few more designs in the works!!

I have also developped an addiction to FABRIC!! But more about that later.

Stay tuned for more!!

Back to it!!

Well, back to it!! Now that the initial start up of my business is over and the initial influx of orders have been created, I am going to concentrate more on my blog!!

This is still my FAVOURITE photo from my product shoot with Itty Bitty Photography Hobart!! It is also one of my favourite products! They are so versatile - hair clips, hair ties, brooches, etc!!

I am going to try and go back and document my journey so far!! I have taken loads of photos, just need to put some words with them!!!

Off to sew in a minute, waiting for the kids to go to bed!!
